Travel Restrictions Eased Further in an Effort to Boost the Tourism Sector
Dr. Asela Gunawardena, Director General, Health Services confirmed that foreign visitors who are fully vaccinated and those who have completed 14-days in quarantine are now able to move out the Bio-bubble and travel to other areas of the country.
The relaxing of the guidelines comes on the back of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa reiterating the importance of opening the country up to foreign visitors gradually as the sector is a key foreign exchange earner for the country.
‘Safe and Secure’ Level 1 or Level 2 certified hotels can now accept foreign visitors with a vaccination certificate or discharge note issued by Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
