Pravesha – Sri Lanka Railyway’s e-Ticketing platform
Marking a new era in the Sri Lanka Railway department, a systematic e-ticketing website was launched in August 2024.
You can now purchase your commuter tickets hassle free via Pravesha and avoid the inconvenience of standing in long queues.
Add your trip details and make payments via credit/debit card and receive your e-ticket via SMS or Email. You can also validate your e-ticket at the station or on the train using the QR code available on the ticket.
Tickets for 5 passengers (including return tickets) can be purchased in one go and cancellation is possible 1 day prior to the journey and a maximum refund of 75% of your ticket value will be approved.
Commuters are required to check the availability of trains and their schedules prior to purchasing their tickets and they are liable to present their tickets for validation as it’s only valid for a single entry and exit from each station.
While tickets can be purchased up to one week in advance, only 2nd and 3rd class tickets can be purchased online. To purchase 1st class tickets, please contact your nearest travel agent.
