August 1, 2020 Proposed as the Day to Reopen Sri Lanka Airports to Tourists by Presidential Task Force
The presidential task force has proposed to reopen Sri Lanka’s airports to foreign travellers from 1 August as the country returns to normalcy amidst the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The first phase will focus on opening hotels and restaurants registered with the Tourism Development Authority for in house dining. Depending on the success of phase one steps will be taken to reopen unregistered eateries under the strict supervision of the Army and Public Health Officials.
