Reopening of the Airport Pushed Back Further
Rajeev Sooriyaarachchi, Vice President, Airport Aviation Services (Lanka) Ltd confirmed that the reopening of the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for all incoming passengers has been pushed back further to September by authorities in light of the recent spike in COVID-19 cases within the country. He also stated that repatriation of Sri Lankans stranded overseas has also been temporarily stopped.
