Connaissance Initiates Program to Upskill Local Chauffeur Guides
With the tourism industry facing its toughest challenge in recent times with the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic Chandra Wickramasinghe and the team at Connaissance initiated a program to upskill the local chauffeur guides helping them better sustain their livelihood post pandemic. The French course conducted by Alliance Française which kicked off in September of 2020 was sponsored entirely by Connaissance De Ceylan. The course was open to members of Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour-Operators (SLAITO) with 16 participant for the course being members of competing DMC’s. 21 chauffeurs have recently completed the course with many passing with high honours.
