Airbnb Will Play a Crucial Role in Economic Recovery Post Pandemic
A landmark report commissioned by Airbnb which explores the total economic impact of Airbnb across Asia-Pacific (APAC) reported that the Airbnb community supported more than 920,000 jobs in the APAC region in 2019. According to the Oxford Economics report Airbnb guests spent a total of $70.5 billion in Asia-Pacific between 2015 and 2019 and more than $20.7 billion in 2019 alone which accounts for a fourfold increase in comparison to 2015. For every 100 Airbnb listings in Asia-Pacific a total of 101 jobs were supported in 2019. Airbnb will play crucial role in tourism recovery post pandemic bringing foreign visitors back to destinations and aiding economic recovery and supporting the early recovery of domestic travel by helping domestic travellers discover new areas in their own country in the absence of international travel.
