Dubai Battles the Biggest Covid-19 Outbreak Since the Beginning of the Pandemic in 2020
Dubai is battling a second wave of Coronavirus infections which threatens to derail its plans to resuscitate it’s tourism industry. One of the few countries that has been open to foreign visitors since July 2020, Dubai saw a surge in visitors in December. However as reported by hotel chain RIU January has seen a significant slowdown of bookings following the move by several countries including Britain and Denmark to tighten entry restrictions for those travelling from the UAE. The daily infections have tripled in January, with UAE now battling the biggest Covid-19 outbreak since the pandemic began.
