Inauguration of SLAITO Youth held at Ramada Colombo
SLAITO Youth was inaugurated on the 18 June 2020 at the Ramada Hotel. The occasion was graced by many dignitaries including Hon. Namal Rajapaksa (Chief Guest), Dr. Palitha Kohona (Guest Speaker), Andreas Hergenröther among others. Phase one of SLAITO Youth will be limited to 35 members with plans in place to roll out phase two in the near future. SLAITO Youth will focus on sustainability initiatives and reducing the impact of tourism on the environment. REsearch and studies conducted have shown that 65% of tourists have booked their trip through a DMC and therefore working with foreign tour operators will also be key area of focus. The newly appointed committee is headed by Maxime Wickramasinghe, President SLAITO Youth, with the rest of the committee comprising of Ms. Mandrinee Nanayakkara, Ms. Thilochana Karandawala, Mr. Aman Farook, Ms. Chantelle Ferdinands, Mr. Chathura Fernando, Mr. George Paul, Mrs Prabodini Bandara and Ms. Dinooshi Kariyawasan.
