Mixed Reactions from THASL on Tourism Reopening Conditions
The Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL) has a mixed reactions to new conditions implemented by the Government when reopening Sri Lanka to travellers from 1 August. Sanath Ukwatte, THASL President stated that an offer of fee-free Visa at least for a period of 06 months could result in increased interest in travelling to Sri Lanka. He also stressed that given the series of PCR testing that needs to be carried out in accordance with the new health protocols, and the government having to incur additional costs offering fee-free visa might not be practical.
