Provisional Licensing for SMEs Introduced by SLTDA
Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) in its efforts to extend support to the SME sector which is estimated to be over 60% of the industry is introducing provisional licensing to assist the sector in seeking COVID-19 health certification to host foreign visitors in the future. Due to the barriers involved in the SLTDA registration process (and the extensive documentation required) many unregistered tourism businesses were not able to receive any relief packages offered by the government. To obtain a provisional license an online application needs to be submitted with limited documentation and images along with the registration fee of Rs. 2200.
