Rapid Response from Tour Operators Key in the Recovery Process for Tourism Industry
With the COVID-19 pandemic causing serious issues for all in the tourism industry faster and better recovery in comparison to other competing destinations have never been more important. According to Harith Perera a rapid response from tour operators would be key in the recovery process for the industry and the economy. Incentivising foreign tour operators who love the destination is the “need of the hour” which would help position Sri Lanka over and above other competing destinations. SLTDA registered DMC’s account for 80 -90 percent of leisure travellers to Sri Lanka, nearly 1.44 million tourists in 2018.
