Risk of Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage been Blacklisted
Due to overcrowding and varied other reasons, the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is facing the risk of being blacklisted.
Prasanna Ranatunge, Minister for Tourism stated that foreign visitor arrivals to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage has been dwindling annually and that plans were in place to develop the Orphanage in the future by upgrading the facilities available for visitors as well as the animals.
