SLAITO Commends Actions Taken to Rescue Whales
Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO) shared their gratefulness towards the Sri Lankan Navy, the coast guards, marine biologists/environmentalists, local fishermen, and all other volunteers who were involved in rescuing over 100 whales that were stranded on the Panadura beach, situated on Sri Lanka’s Western Coast, despite the lockdown enforced within the country. They stated that the rescue operation of the whales received global publicity on international media and have expanded the image of the country worldwide.
