Sri Lanka College of Microbiologists Put Forward Recommendations for Reopening
The Sri Lanka College of Microbiologists (SLCM) have put forward recommendations on reopening the country to tourists, reiterating the importance of working closely with the health sector to ensure their suggestions are sought and implemented during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Key recommendations put forward include commencing tourism in a staggered manner while adhering to the strict COVID-19 control measures in place, training of airport ground staff and cabin crew in COVID-19 infection prevention and control as well as proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), centralised storing of all tourists itineraries for easy tracing of contacts and comprehensive and mandatory on arrival health declaration.
