Sri Lanka Tourism in Discussions with the EU Office on Disbursement of Euro 3.5 Million Grant
Sri Lanka Tourism is currently in discussions with the European Union Office in Colombo regarding the most effective disbursement of a Euro 3.5 million government to government grant. The grant was a part of the Euro 22 million received by the government of Sri Lanka of which Euro 3.5 million has been allocated to support the tourism sector. Sri Lanka Tourism has agreed with the donor that the support includes a one time cash handout to SMEs, upskilling employees on soft skills, sanitary standards and business management, programs with SMEs and Homestays on developing the experiential product offering and the development of the wellness sector.
