Sri Lanka Tourism Virtually Attend “ANTOR Meets the Media” in an Effort to Promote Destination Sri Lanka.
Association of National Tourist Offices and Representatives (ANTOR) hosted a virtual media meeting on the 29th of September 2020 which was attended by Chairperson of Sri Lanka Tourism, Kimarli Fernando, and Sri Lanka High Commissioner for the UK, H.E. Saroja Sirisena to share insights on the current progress the country has made in battling the Covid-19 pandemic.
The discussion focussed on the protocols that are to be implemented to ensure the safety of the islanders as well as foreign visitors hoping to travel to Sri Lanka. Due to the deep interests shown by British travellers, Sri Lanka High Commissioner for the UK further emphasized the significance the UK market holds in reviving the tourism industry in Sri Lanka and the important role played by UK media in promoting Sri Lanka as a potential travel destination post the Covid 19 pandemic. Event participation ensured that Sri Lanka was able to approach travel media directly, providing an opportunity to spread awareness on the safety measures taken by Sri Lanka prior to reopening its doors and welcoming foreign visitors back.
