Sri Lanka’s Tourism Industry to Achieve $10 Billion in Revenue by 2025
Prasanna Ranatunga, Minister of Tourism stated that the Sri Lankan government has taken measures to attract 7 million foreign visitors to the country, bringing in earnings worth USD 10 billion from the tourism industry by 2025, during World Tourism Day Celebrations held at Kandy City Center on the 27th of September 2020.
He further stated that a memorandum has been submitted to the cabinet to provide relief to those in the tourism industry adversely affected by the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic. He further stated that some of the content included in the memorandum had been partially fulfilled and that other measures were under discussion.
