The second session of the Sri Lanka Tourism Alliance Resilience Webinar Series was held on Friday, May 15th 2020 at 10.00 am, on the topic How to prepare your business to reopen. Insights from Singapore.
The webinar focused on how Singapore took its learnings from SARS to create Singapore Clean – an innovative and accredited program for the hospitality and tourism sector that ensures businesses operate with superior clean protocols during this time.
Irving Low, Partner KPMG Singapore, shared the background of how the program works and the applications for the Sri Lanka Tourism Industry. KPMG is the sole consultant engaged by Singapore Tourist Board to co-create and implement the SG Clean Campaign.
Thanabal Naidu, Hygiene and Safety Manager at Grand Hyatt Singapore, one of the first hotels to be certified by SG Clean in Singapore and Sanath Ukwatte President of The Hotels Association of Sri Lanka also joined the panel to provide a hoteliers’ perspective.
The introduction was by Co Chair Sri Lanka Tourism Alliance, Malik J Fernando, while the session was moderated by Global Tourism Expert Katherine Droga, Founder Droga & Co, and Advisor to the Alliance.
