Tourism Stakeholders Disappointed that Sector Workers are Not Prioritised in Vaccination Drive
Key tourism industry stakeholders expressed their disappointment that sector workers have not been given priority through the national Covishield vaccination drive despite assurances given by the government that the tourism sector employees have been prioritised. Sanath Ukwatte, President, The Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL) and Thilak Weerasinghe, President, Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO) were both hopeful that the government would fast track the vaccination drive and reiterated their commitment to supporting the government.
