World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) ‘Safe Travels’ stamp positions Sri Lanka as an Exemplary Destination
Kimarli Fernando, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Tourism stated that the receipt of the ‘Safe Travels’ stamp for Sri Lanka by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is testament to the way in which Sri Lanka has handled the COVID-19 pandemic and positions Sri Lanka as an exemplary destination for safe travel. The safety protocols introduced by the government and the standards mandated by Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) to ensure the safety of domestic and as well as foreign visitors was instrumental in ensuring that destination Sri Lanka was awarded WTTC Safe Travels stamp.
