As an Operations Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in the successful and profitable running of all Sri Lanka trips and travel products under Intrepid DMC Colombo. You’ll be responsible for the recruitment, training and management of Intrepid’s local Tour Leaders and guides. Being a part of the DMC Management Team, you’ll contribute to the overall direction of our DMC, ensuring consistent performance in the Operations Department.  
 
In this dynamic role, you’ll handle key aspects of Operations including safety and incident management, trip quality control, passenger satisfaction, budgets and legal compliance. 
Most importantly, by ensuring operational excellence, you’ll help us provide the best travel experience for our customers!  
 
This is a full-time permanent position, based in our Colombo office, requiring some flexibility in work hours due to the operational nature of the role.  
To provide the best experience for our people, this role would operate in our office with the opportunity to work from home on occasion.  

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Tourism Management, Commerce or related business degree
  • 4 – 5 years’ operational experience in the travel industry/ destination management companies 
  • Extensive travel experience in Sri Lanka 
  • Great people management experience, preferably in a middle to senior level managerial role 
  • Strong communication and analytical skills 
  • Good understanding of the operational function of a trip such as managing tour leaders, ensuring trips go according to plan and resolving emergency situations on-ground 
  • Ability to monitor and action policies and processes within the business 
  • You’ll also be passionate about travel and bring amazing coaching and organizational skills!
