Hello there!
We use social media on a daily basis, now let's learn how to use it for our business. Let's begin.

Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr, LinkedIn and YouTube, allow businesses to exchange information with customers.

Social media can be used to;

  • Connect with customers
  • Build a brand
  • Drive website traffic
  • Establish expertise
  • Increase sales
Here's a few tips on how we can use social media.

Now let's take a look at a few of the most used social media platforms.

Facebook currently has over 2.25 Billion users and Facebook Business Pages are easy to maintain.
Keep in mind that a Facebook Profile is a personal space and a Facebook Page [1] is used for businesses.
Here's how we need to set up a Facebook Page;
  • Business name and description
  • Profile photo and cover photo
  • The page action
This is what we do once the page is set up;
  • Publish new content
  • Start messaging
  • Add special features
  • Promote the page
  • Keep improving
Next, let's check Instagram out.
Instagram is a free image and video mobile app.

Here's how to set up an Instagram Business Account;
  • Download and open the app.
  • Set up a business profile
  • Post content and follow people or businesses
Here's how we can maintain an Instagram Business Account;
  • Stick to a regular posting schedule
  • Upload professional content
  • Interact with other accounts
  • Use Hashtags
  • Host giveaways and promotions
One of the interesting features of Instagram or IG, is that we can use Hashtags that allow customers to find content through word searches.

Another content heavy platform is Pinterest.
Pinterest is an online pinboard that allows us to categorise and share content.

Now let's take a look at how to create a profile;
  • Open an account

Last but not least, we are going to take a brief look at YouTube.
YouTube is a free video sharing platform that is managed by Google.
One of the unique features of YouTube is that a customer does not need to create a profile to view content. But you need an account to upload and save content.

Here's how to create an account;
  • Sign in to an existing Google account or create a new YouTube Business Channel.
  • Click the avatar icon on the top right.
  • Click on My Channel.
  • Click Use a business or other name.
  • Click Create to activate the channel.
