Introduction to e-marketing



There are two parts to listing your business:

Part 1: Add or claim your business listing

Use Google Maps to claim your business
To claim your business on Google Maps, follow these steps:
  1. On your phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Search for your business.
  3. Open the business information panel, then scroll down and tap Claim this business
If your business isn't found on Google Maps.Use your computer to claim your business:
  1. On your computer, go to Google My Business.
  2. Click Sign in.
  3. Sign in to your Google Account, or create one. Then, click Next.
  4. Sign up with your business email domain since this account will be for your business. Enterthe name of your business or select if from the suggestions that appear as you type.
  5. Enter your business address. You may also be asked to position a marker at your business location on a map.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish signing up for Google My Business.

Part 2: Verification

The verification process helps Google make sure your business information is accurate and that only you, the business owner or manager, has access to it.

Here's how to verify your business:


Verify a business listing by mail


To verify your business listing by mail, enter your business address in Google My Business. They will send you a postcard with a verification code. Most postcards arrive within 14 days. Before requesting to verify your listing by mail, make sure your business address complies with their address entry guidelines.

Follow the steps below to use the mobile app to request a postcard:
  1. Open the Google My Business app.
  2. Tap Send postcard.
  3. Choose the business you'd like to verify, then tap I don't have a code.
  4. Check the mail for your postcard. It should arrive in 1-2 weeks. Do not edit your business name, address, or category, or request a new code while you're waiting for a letter. This may delay the verification process.
To enter the verification code, follow these steps:
  1. After you get your postcard, open the Google My Business app.
  2. Choose the business you'd like to verify.
  3. Tap Enter code to complete the verification or I don't have a code if you didn't get your postcard.
After you enter your verification code, your business information will be eligible to appear live in Search, Maps, and other Google services.
